Glass fiber is the most widely used reinforcing material for making laminates using the "hand lay-up" method. The glass fibers are cross-connected with each other and are held together by a binder. This binder dissolves in Styrene (i.a. Polyester resin), and therefore it may be much desired shapes assumed during lamination.
Glass fiber mat 300 g / m2 is used in molded parts with a lot of details.
